Luxembourg's Ministry of the Economy has announced that Minister Lex Delles will lead an official economic mission to Morocco from Monday 4 to Thursday 7 May 2026.
Luxembourg's Minister of the Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism will be accompanied by a delegation of 30 representatives from 22 Luxembourg companies, primarily active in the technology and construction sectors.
According to the ministry, the mission comes at a time of increased public and private investment in Morocco. The country is currently undertaking major infrastructure projects, including the expansion of port facilities, the development of the rail network, the strengthening of airport capacity, the deployment of fibre optics and 5G, as well as projects linked to preparations for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
Organised by the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office in Casablanca, the Luxembourg Embassy in Morocco, Luxembourg's Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, and the Ministry of the Economy, the mission aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation and foster new opportunities for collaboration in areas of mutual interest, in a particularly favourable context and in light of Morocco's growing needs in engineering, cybersecurity and industrial technologies.
The programme includes: a Luxembourg-Morocco Economic Forum, organised with the support of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM); several networking events, including one with the Moroccan startups selected to participate in the Nexus trade fair in Luxembourg in June and another with the Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Morocco (CCBLM); visits to a university and an incubator; a meeting with an industrial group and a visit to an industrial skills centre located in the same industrial zone; a visit to the Casablanca Finance City (CFC) business district and a meeting with its executives; as well as official meetings with Moroccan counterparts.
Alongside the minister's programme, the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce is also offering sector-specific visits to its members and organising personalised business meetings tailored to their needs.
