Luxembourg's Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Jean Asselborn, will participate in the UN General Assembly in New York on Tuesday 12 July 2016 on the subject of human rights.
Minister Asselborn is to discuss his views with the Secretary General of the UN, Ban Ki-Moon, on major issues of international politics and, in particular, the preparation of the plenary meeting of high-level management on the subject of massive displacement of refugees and migrants, which is to be held on 19 September 2016 in New York.
Jean Asselborn will also meet with the Special Representative of the Secretary General for Children and Armed Conflict, Leila Zerrougui - Luxembourg is particularly committed to the plight of children in armed conflict.
Finally, Minister Asselborn will take advantage of his presence at the UN to discuss the latest developments regarding the situation in the Middle East with the permanent representatives of Arab countries.
