Details: This year Luxembourg is hosting the annual European Conference and Ceremony Awards of the Best Workplaces Europe 2015, at the Abbaye de Neumunster in Luxembourg-Grund on Thursday 4 June 2105 from 09:00.

The Conference will feature business leaders speaking about how to foster a great company culture, and the growing imperative to become a great workplace. Luxembourg's Minister of Labour, Nicolas Schmit, will open the conference.
 
That evening, Great Place to Work will release its 13th annual 100 Best Workplaces in Europe list. Winners will be announced at a black-tie Awards Ceremony.

Speakers include:

- CAROLIEN BIJEN: Senior Consultant, &samhoud - #1 Best Small & Medium Workplace in Netherlands from 2008 to 2010. Carolien Bijen is passionate about creating value for society. About building a brighter future through creating great public service organizations delivering great public service as a result. Within &samhoud she is responsible for all clients in government, the public sector and NGOs. Carolien is an expert on vision and strategy development and leadership, team and personal development. In 2008 she founded &samhoud women, a consulting practice for diversity and inclusion and a women’s network. In 2011 she wrote the book (S)Topvrouw!, formulating a new perspective on the topic of diversity and inclusion. She joined &samhoud in 2006 as project leader for Vision21, an initiative to develop a vision for The Netherlands through a participative approach, connecting 2,500 people around a common vision for the Netherlands. She started her career with ExxonMobil where she worked in marketing, financial reporting, recruitment and sales. Carolien studie d public policy at the University of Twente. Carolien is married and a mother of 3.

- MARK DE SMEDT: Chief Human Resources Officer, Adecco - #19 Best Multinational Workplace in Europe, 2014. Mark De Smedt became a member of the Adecco Executive Committee in January 2014. A Belgian national, he has a degree in Commercial Engineering from the Free University of Brussels (Solvay school) and has attended several Management and MBA programmes in Chicago, Harvard, INSEAD and the London Business School. In 2009, Mark joined Adecco as Country Manager for Belgium & Luxembourg. He was previously a founder of Professional Staffing specialist XPE Group, which was acquired by Adecco. Prior to this, he was responsible for Adecco's Benelux operations between 2002 and 2007. Before Mark joined the staffing industry, he held various executive positions at Wang, Apple, Citibank, and Scoot in France, Spain and Belgium.

- ALEX EDMANS: Professor of Finance, London Business School. Alex Edmans is a Professor of Finance at London Business School. He was educated at Oxford (BA) and MIT (PhD, Fulbright Scholar) and then joined Wharton, where he won 14 teaching awards in six years and was granted tenure. Alex’s research interests are in corporate finance, behavioural finance, and corporate social responsibility. He has presented to the Bank of England, Federal Reserve, Goldman Sachs, IMF, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley, and SEC, and been live-interviewed by Bloomberg, BBC, CNBC, CNN, ESPN, and Fox. Alex co-led a session on behavioural economics at the World Economic Forum in Davos, and runs a blog, “Access to Finance”, that makes complex finance topics accessible to a general audience. - CHARLES FAIR: Head of Consultancy, Great Place to Work UK. Charles has 17 years of experience of running large global employee research projects for clients across the public and private sectors in the E.U., Switzerland and Russia. These include Manpower, Cobham, BT Group, and RBS. Prior to his current role, Charles spent 10 years at Towers Watson where he specialized in organizational measurement but also gained experience of broader human capital consulting in the areas of post-merger integration, reward, well-being and management development. This included a secondment to Towers Watson’s Tokyo office. Charles holds an MA from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from the HEC School of Management, France.

- VIVIANE HARNOIS: Retired Senior Vice President, ABN AMRO Bank. Viviane Harnois has a 35-year career as an HR Director and Line Manager, leading people strategy and talent development across a variety of businesses and countries in complex multicultural environments. During the last 15 years, she worked for a global financial institution present in 60 countries with 120,000 employees. She managed HR for 6 legal entities in Luxembourg as well as a group of subsidiaries in various countries. In addition, she was a key contributor leading or participating in global projects such as the leader of the global talent management redesign, member of the strategic HR transformation team, and leadership feedback coach for top executives. Viviane is a Board Member of the HR Community, on the ATTF Training faculty since 1997, and was a Board Member of the IFLB (Luxembourg Financial Training Institute) for 12 years.

- GARRY MC CABE: HR Director, Kuehne + Nagel - #4 Best Medium Workplace in Ireland, 2014. Garry McCabe is a strategically focused Human Resource professional with over 15 years’ experience in Human Resources and Industrial Relations. He has an extremely strong commercial orientation which allows him focus his HR team to deliver a real and tangible return on investment to Kuehne + Nagel Ireland. Garry has broad experience, having worked with the world’s most respected logistics group and two of Ireland’s renowned brands. His professional passion is developing sustainable and meaningful performance management structures, which deliver true value to his organisation.

- JON PERSSON: CEO & Chairman, Cygni - #1 Best Small & Medium Workplace in Europe, 2014. Jon Persson is the CEO and chairman of Swedish IT consultancy Cygni. After obtaining his MSc degree at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, he worked for 8 years at both Swedish and international consulting companies. In 2006, he co-founded Cygni, a high-end consultancy providing software specialists to leading media, finance, gaming and telecommunications companies. In 2014, Cygni won several major business awards in Sweden, including being named the #1 Best Small and Medium Workplace in Europe.

- AKSEL RINGVOLD: CEO HILTI - #17 Best Multinational Workplace Europe, 2014. Aksel Ringvold is the General Manager of Hilti Sweden since November 2009. Both in 2014 and 2015 Hilti ranked 1st in the Swedish Great Place to Work rankings and have in the past years won several awards for competence development and leadership. Aksel joined Hilti in 2005 as Marketing Director in Austria after which he became Head of Global Brand Management at Hilti’s headquarters in Liechtenstein. Prior to joining Hilti, Aksel was 8 years with Procter & Gamble in various positions across Europe. He holds a Master’s Degree in Social & Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
