The Agence pour le développement de l'emploi (ADEM) today released the unemployment rate for the month of October 2015, which at 6.8% revealed a 3.3% decrease in one year but an increase of 504 people compared with the previous month.
On 31 October 2015, the number of available resident jobseekers registered with ADEM stood at 17,530, indicating 594 fewer people in one year. The number of job seekers stood at around the same level as in 2013, when it amounted to 17,516 for the same date.
The number of job seekers who have been registered with ADEM for longer than a year also fell, by 0.5% compared to October 2014. In October of this year, 2,166 people registered with ADEM, marking an increase of 9 people when compared with the same month of 2014.
The unemployment rate stood at 6.8%, meaning it has fallen 0.1% compared to October 2014, but equally risen the same amount with regards to September 2015, when it was 6.7%.
In late September 2015, 5,385 people were allocated an employment measure, revealing an increase of 143 people or 2.7% compared with October 2014. In October of this year, employers reported 2,590 vacant posts with ADEM, marking a growth of 14.3% as was found in October 2014.
