Luxair, the flag carrier airline of Luxembourg, has announced that it is adding an additional rotation to London City, as of 1 March 2022.

In order to meet the strong demand of its passengers interested in the connection between Luxembourg and London, Luxair is increasing its presence in London City. The national airline is thus increasing its frequencies to London to five daily rotations, from 1 March 2022.

The connection offered by Luxair to the centre of the British capital allows a round trip during the day. From Monday to Saturday, Luxair's De Havilland Q400 will operate the very first departure from London (all airports combined) at 06:30 (local London time), arriving in Luxembourg at 08:45 (local Luxembourg time), allowing travellers on a business trip a full working day on site, combined with a flight at the end of the day. The new frequency will be completed by the flight departing from Luxembourg at 21:10 (local Luxembourg time) and arriving in London City at 21:30 (local London time), Monday to Friday and Sunday. Following this last flight, the aircraft will park at London City Airport for its departure the next day at 06:30.

Luxair started its operations from Luxembourg to London City on 17 November 2003 with a Fokker 50. Whilst this destination was mainly appreciated by businesspeople at its launch, in recent years it has met with growing success among leisure passengers, as well.

The news of this increased flight frequency comes two days after British Airways announced that it is launching four new routes out of London City airport, including one to / from Luxembourg.
