2015 represented a 8.8% boost to Cargolux's block hours flown compared with 2014, the Luxembourg-based cargo carrier reported Wednesday.
Cargolux's operational performance was stated to have grown last year, surpassing the all-time record from 2014 with 114,792 block hours flown. Tonnes sold grew 7.4% to 889,746, whilst the overage loadfactor was said to have remained largely unchanged at 66%, due to the increase in its fleet size.
Up to and including November 2015, Cargolux reached a global market share of 3.8%. Additional staff were also hired, bringing worldwide employees up from 1,775 in 2014 to 1,879.
The group operates a fleet of 25,747 freighters and announced plans to add additional aircraft in Luxembourg and China in the next few years.
Detailed figures for the company's business year 2015 are expected at the end of April 2016.
