Professional women’s networking association, The Network, is hosting an evening of cultural mindfulness to help participants examine their personal social and cultural identities and reflect on cultural awareness and social group memberships at the Hotel Le Royal on 21 June.

Sandrine Gashonga will lead an evening of exploring the roots of cultural learning, highlighting the multiple dimensions of our identities and addressing the importance of self-identification.

Sandrine is an intercultural trainer with her own perspective on these sensitivities. She arrived in Luxembourg 20 years ago as a Rwandan refugee, obtained her Luxembourgish citizenship in 2006 and is now well-integrated into the Luxembourgish community. She has a masters in mediation and continues to study intercultural communication. Her interest in mediation was linked to her past in Rwanda and the conflict through which she lived. She believes culture is not always used positively, but as an alibi.

The evening starts at 19:00, and is scheduled to conclude at 22:00. Entrance is free to members, €12.50 to pre-registered non-members, and €15 at the door.

See The Network’s website: http://www.thenetwork.lu for further details and registration information.
