Grand Ducal Police officers perform checks at the Upper Sûre Lake;

On Tuesday 29 September 2026, the Grand Ducal Police published details of the various checks it conducted around the Upper Sûre Lake between May to September.
According to the police, during this period a total of 733 fixed-penalty notices were issued in connection with checks on parked vehicles, and 45 violations of the Highway Code were identified. Additionally, four reports were drawn up for violations of the Highway Code, including driving under the influence of alcohol, serious irregularities concerning vehicle documents, and parking a vehicle in a way that obstructed traffic.
Three fixed-penalty notices and two reports were issued for violations of the drug legislation.
There were also four fixed-penalty notices for violations of nature conservation legislation (driving a motor vehicle in a forest without authorization), three fixed-penalty notices for violations of waste legislation (burning waste), as well as one fixed-penalty notice and two reports for violations of fishing regulations.
During the period in question, eighteen reports were drawn up for disregarding the dog ban in certain areas around Upper Sûre Lake, ten reports for violations of the barbecue ban, and nine reports for illegal camping.
In addition, four complaints were filed for theft and one complaint for damage to someone else’s property. In another case, a report was drawn up following a dispute.
