At this week's Citi Open tennis tournament at Washington DC in the USA, Luxembourg's 32 year-old Gilles Muller, ranked #46 in the world following his recent exploits in Georgia, US, managed to get as far as the second round in the Singles.
In the first round of the Men's Singles, he defeated Tunisia's Malek Jaziri (ranked #85), 6-3, 7-5. In the second round, he was up against the 4th seed, France's Richard Gasquet (ranked #13) but, despite winning the first set, was defeated 5-7, 6-4, 6-4.
Top seed Andy Murray was knocked out in the second round, but 2nd seed Kei Nishikori of Japan is through to the 3rd round.
