Luxembourg's Ministry of Sports has announced that sports clubs affiliated with an approved sports federation in Luxembourg governing a competitive sport will now have more time to apply for basic and quality subsidies.

The deadline, which has so far been set for 15 July of the year for which assistance is requested, has been postponed to 30 September due to the exceptional situation in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. In turn, this postponement also applies for the years to come.

Requests for the year 2020 can be submitted via the myguichet.lu portal as of 15 April. A detailed circular will reach all clubs via the sports federations.
For the 2019 financial year, an amount of €3.5 million was paid to the sports clubs in question to ensure in particular quality sports supervision for children under 16 years of age.
