On Tuesday 14 November 2023, POST Luxembourg has announced it will issue eleven new special stamps, including the “Christmas 2023” stamps.

The designs of the 2023 Christmas stamps depict a melting snowman and a sweating Boxemännchen (little brioche man). Alain Welter’s illustrations, while they may make one smile at first glance, are also meant to encourage reflection on the consequences of climate change.

The issue of end-of-year stamps also has a charitable aim: for each Christmas stamp sold, POST Luxembourg pays €0.10 or €0.15 to the Œuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte.

This stamp issue also includes the L50g Postostick stamps “Natur- & Geopark Mëllerdall – UNESCO Global Geopark” as well as a special series of charity stamps “Orchids in Luxembourg”.

Dedicated exclusively to this new stamp issue, the “PhilatéLux” publication of November 2023 lists the different stamps and provides information on their respective characteristics and designs.

The new special stamps are now available in the POST Philately online store, at the stamp counter in Cloche d'Or (13 Rue Robert Stümper) and in all post offices.
