On Wednesday 4 June 2025, the City of Luxembourg and the Commercial Union of the City of Luxembourg (UCL, the retailers' trade association) announced the winners of the "Luxembourg-City in Bloom" window decoration competition, organized from 1 to 31 May to contribute to the creation of a green and floral atmosphere for LUGA - Luxembourg Urban Garden and to reward the efforts of retailers to bring nature to life for customers and visitors through their storefronts.
A total of 33 businesses participated in the competition, including 18.18% located in the Gare district, 60.61% located in the Upper Town, and 21.21% located in other districts of the capital.
After evaluating the window displays according to the defined criteria — adherence to the theme, overall aesthetic, originality and creativity, integration of the products sold into the decor, and technical execution — the jury named the following as joint winners:
- the "Souvenir" boutique, located at 22 rue Beaumont (Ville Haute)
- the "Voyages Flammang" boutique, located at 17 Boulevard Royal (Ville Haute)
- the "Friendship Colours of the Chars Store" boutique, located at 10 rue Beaumont (Ville Haute)
The public was also invited to vote for their favourite window display, and the People's Choice Award was awarded to the "Devi Studios" boutique, located at 7 rue Aldringen (Ville Haute).
The jury was enthusiastic about the creativity and dedication of the retailers in creating their window displays, as a store's window is the first impression it conveys to its customers and is therefore a true tool of seduction and communication, accounting for a large portion of its revenue.
The winners each receive €2,000 in prizes provided by the City of Luxembourg as part of this initiative to support retailers and create a vibrant and attractive neighbourhood.
The UCVL and the City of Luxembourg thanked all participants (concours-cityshopping.lu) for their commitment and creativity. Thanks to them, the streets of the capital offered a vibrant atmosphere throughout the event.
