The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a road accident resulting in a seriously injured bystander took place in Niederkorn on Thursday 14 August 2025.
At around 10:00, a traffic accident was reported at the roundabout near Route de Longwy in Niederkorn.
According to initial information, a collision occurred between two vehicles, after which one of the vehicles crashed onto a nearby restaurant terrace due to excessive speed. A person on the terrace was seriously injured and taken to hospital after receiving initial treatment on-site. Another person, also present on the terrace, as well as the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident, were also taken to hospital for further assessment.
The public prosecutor's office was informed and tasked the forensic police department with investigating the accident.
