On Tuesday 15 march 2022, POST Luxembourg announced the launch of Apple Pay for its POST Finance customers.
Apple Pay will allow customers to make contactless payment through their iPhone or Apple Watch. Apple Pay purchase will be secured and authenticated by Face ID, Touch ID or device passcode. Each transaction will be authorised using a dynamic security code specific to each transaction.
Apple Pay is accepted at grocery stores, pharmacies, taxis, restaurants, cafes, retail stores and many other places.
Customers can also use Apple Pay on iPhone, iPad and Mac to shop in apps or on the web in Safari, without having to create a customer account or entering shipping and billing information each time. Apple Pay can also be used to make payments in apps on Apple Watch.
For security and privacy of Apple Pay, when the customer uses a credit or debit card with Apple Pay, the card number will not stored on the device or on Apple's servers bu instead, a unique account number specific to their device is created, then encrypted and stored securely in a secure component called Secure Element, an industry-standard certified chip designed to store payment information securely on the device.
Once a customer has added a credit card or debit card detail on an iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad or Mac, they can start using Apple Pay on that device immediately. Customers will continue to benefit from all the advantages offered by POST cards.
