A new 100% gluten-free shop has opened its doors in Soleuvre in south-western Luxembourg.

Alessandro Favaro, who owned the Stella Rosa pizzeria in Soleuvre from 1992 until 2017, and his wife Nelita decided to open a grocery shop fully dedicated to gluten-free products after Nelita's daughter was diagnosed with coeliac disease about three years ago. Since the diagnosis, they had been struggling to find good-quality, varied gluten-free products in Luxembourg.

Alessandro came across the Italian franchise "Il Mondo Senza Glutine" (a world without gluten) and, on Saturday 9 October 2021, Il Mondo Senza Glutine Luxembourg opened its doors to the public. Located between Soleuvre and Differdange in the Zolwereck shopping centre (195 Rue de Differdange, L-4437 Sanem), the shop is open Monday to Saturday from 09:30 to 18:00.

As more products arrive, the Il Mondo Senza Glutine Luxembourg will adapt its offer to its clientele. Currently, one of the brands on offer, Piu Gusto, is both gluten- and lactose-free, and some other products are also vegan. In addition to products from the Il Mondo Senza Glutine franchise, the Luxembourg store offers imported British brands such as Glebe Farm, McVitie's and Wellaby's.
