On Saturday morning, the official inauguration of Andy Schleck Cycles was held at the new bicycle shop in Itzig.
Talking with The Luxembourg Chronicle, Andy Schleck said that, following its opening on 5 February, sales have been good and the workshop has been busy,
A marquee had been erected outside the entirely renovated building in Itzig, and incorporated a stage from which Andy Schleck spoke in both Luxembourgish and English, with Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and the Mayor of Hesperange, Marc Lies, as well as Jens Voigt, who spoke in German. The presentations were light-hearted in nature and Andy thanked everyone who has supported him in getting this project off the ground, introducing his business partners, his wife Jil and father-in-law Jeannot Delvaux. Other dignataries in attendance included the Speaker of the Chambre des Deputés, Mars di Bartholomeo.
The marquee provided a large space for the food and drink reception while the cycle shop was open for business with many visitors exploring the 800m2 shop over three-stories and the various ranges of bicycles and accessories.
The shop is hosting an Open Days this week-end, from 14:00-18:00 on Saturday 5 March and 11:00-18:00 on Sunday 6 March 2016. A shuttle is operating from the car park at Holleschbierg in Hesperange to the shop in Itzig.
