The Troc.com store in Hollerich will reopen its doors tomorrow for the first time since it was severely damaged by a fire which destroyed the Cat Club next door in July of this year.
The company confirmed to Chronicle.lu that the second-hand store would reopen for business on Saturday, following restoration work performed on the building. The fire broke out in the early hours of the morning of Sunday 19 July 2015 in the bar and restaurant known at the time as the Cat Club, before spreading to an architect's office and then the Troc Store itself. The building housing the store was badly damaged and Troc was forced to temporarily close to deal with the fire's consequences.
Troc reported that the most extensive damage had been done to the shop's electricity panels and circuit, which subsequently had to be entirely removed and changed. This restoration, as well as a lengthy cleaning process, were cited as the reasons behind the Troc's one month closure.
