Luxembourg's national railway company, the CFL, has confirmed the resumption of rail traffic between Ettelbruck - Kautenbach and Kautenbach - Wiltz on Monday 8 May 2023.

Faced with the risk of unstable rock in a tunnel in Burden in northern Luxembourg, the CFL interrupted rail traffic on the aforementioned sections as of 14 March 2023. According to the CFL, this risk was detected during precautionary works to secure the rock walls located above a scree chamber (built to protect the rail network and rail traffic against the fall of small rocks).

Anchors, fences and safety nets were put in place, as recommended by the external design office that inspected the site.

The CFL confirmed that this six-week work is now complete and the finishing touches are underway before rail traffic can resume, as planned, on Monday 8 May 2023.
