Luxembourg's Ministry of Education, Children and Youth has announced that its Psychosocial and Scholastic Assistance Centre (Centre psycho-social et d'accompagnement scolaires- CePAS) inaugurated a branch in Ettelbruck on Wednesday 18 October 2023 and now offers a local service to the public residing in the north of the country.

The inauguration of the CePAS branch in Ettelbruck took place in the presence of around 60 education and psycho-social support professionals, who were able to discover the premises and find out more about the services offered. An inauguration aimed at the general public will take place in the following months.

Represented by two psychologists, this consultation centre offers psychological and psychotherapeutic support by appointment. The offer is free and is aimed at young people who have left primary education and adults aged under 30 who are in school, school dropouts or in transition to a training path or an academic or professional project. They can contact the centre if they are experiencing difficulties on a personal level (unhappiness, feeling of loneliness, anxiety, feeling of depression, demotivation, stress management, etc.), on a family and relational level (difficult family situation, conflict, breakdown in communication, etc.) and on an academic or student level (fear or lack of desire to go to school, stress management, help with post-baccalaureate decision-making, etc.).

In 2022, CePAS supported 520 young people nationally, including 304 new individuals. Among the most discussed themes were anxiety disorders, disorders linked to stress factors, depressive disorders as well as relational difficulties linked to the immediate environment. Furthermore, the CePAS consultation centre collaborates with professionals from the psycho-socio-educational and medical network, aiming to ensure holistic care and maintain quality in the monitoring of young people.

In Luxembourg City, consultations take place at the Guidance Centre located at 38 Rue Philippe II, L-2340 Luxembourg. In Ettelbruck, CePAS is open to the public at 30 Rue Prince Henri, L-9047 Ettelbruck. Consultation services are open all year round, by appointment to be made via tel.: 247-75910 or via email: ccjf@cepas.lu.
