The Luxembourg Ministry for Higher Education and Research has announced that the offer of BTS (higher technician certificate) training will be diversified for the start of the academic year 2023/2024, to include two new BTS programmes: one in human resource management and one for technical advisory and project management in the green sector.

The Minister for Higher Education and Research, Claude Meisch, recently accredited the two BTS programmes for the period from 15 September 2023 to 14 September 2028.

As all BTS courses, the newly accredited BTS – human resource management (Gestion des ressources humaines) by the Atert-Lycée Redange (ALR) and technical advisor and project manager in the green sector (Conseiller technique et accompagnateur de projets dans le secteur vert) from the Lycée Technique Agricole (LTA) – are higher education training programmes for professional purposes, combining theoretical education and practical internships in companies. The studies, lasting for a period of two years in principle, will be organised in modules and validated in ECTS credits. They lead to a national higher education diploma.

The study programmes are drawn up in close collaboration between the respective secondary schools and the professional circles concerned.

The BTS human resource management at ALR is a course aiming to provide graduates with the necessary human resources qualifications to meet the needs of the professional world, whether in a private company, an administration, an organisation or an institution. The future graduate may be responsible for tasks in terms of salary management, recruitment of new employees as well as internal and external training of employees of the organisation. The follow-up of the workforce (management of working time, clockings, absences, leave, etc.) or other administrative work having a direct link with human resources may also be the responsibility of the holder of this BTS.

The BTS "Technical advisor and project guide in the green sector" (LTA) trains students to advise actors in sectors close to nature (agriculture, environment, horticulture, forestry) and to offer them appropriate and sustainable solutions. The graduates will acquire scientific and practical skills, covering the skills to be able to carry out, accompany, control and manage projects in the so-called “green sector”. During the training, skills are developed with a holistic approach in the areas of sustainable development, circular economy, digitalisation, communication and project management.

At the same time as these two training courses, the accreditation of five BTS training courses was renewed.
