The US Embassy in Luxembourg has announced the opening of applications for the Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellowship (BFTF) programme.
The BFTF is a four-week summer programme in the United States designed for high school (secondary school) students with an interest in international affairs.
The programme, named after American statesman and diplomat Benjamin Franklin, aims to to bring together students from across Europe and the United States to deepen their understanding of US foreign policy and transatlantic relations.
Participants will engage in an intensive academic programme combining lectures, interactive seminars and collaborative workshops, complemented by community service projects, site visits, cultural activities and homestays with American families.
The programme accepts students aged sixteen to eighteen years with a demonstrated interest in international relations and a desire to develop lasting transatlantic connections.
The US Embassy in Luxembourg will nominate one candidate to represent Luxembourg in the programme.

Another programme that may be of interest to eligible students is the Fulbright Scholarship programme, which allows graduate students, young professionals and artists from 160 countries around the world to study or conduct research in the United States.
