Jean Asselborn is in Amsterdam today to participate in the Foreign Affairs Council on informal trade.
The Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg will join European Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström and his European counterparts in discussing the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) between the EU and the United States. Talks will involve an update on the state of negotiations with the US partner, as well as on enhancing transparency in these negotiations, which Minister Asselborn has previously stated "can and must be improved".
Ministers will then discuss the work of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), particularly with regards to the priorities for post-Nairobi neogitations. Finally, the ministers will revie other current issues in trade policy.
