Ever since 1973, the Pedagogic and Leisure Centre (Capel) of the Ville de Luxembourg has organised the Aktoun Bamësch for children aged 5 to 12 years old.
Aktoun Bamësch is a day-camp with outdoor games, sports, discoveries, entertainment theatre and many other activities which take place in Muhlenbach from Monday to Friday from 14:00 to 18:00.
This year the day-camps began on 21 July and will continue until 14 August. Around 500 children come to the Aktoun Bamësch every day and participate in different day-camps, as follows
Villa Argila: About 30 children at the age 5 to 12.
- Children’s village: 30 to 40 children aged 9 to 12.
- Living forest: 60 to 70 children aged 7 to 12.
- The world of film and entertainment: 60 to 70 children aged 7 to 12.
- Kidinapolis: 50 to 60 children aged 7 to 12.
Small groups: A total of 230 to 280 children aged 5 to 7, divided into groups of 10.
There are a total of 64 trained adults in charge of the activities and the children throughout the day, with supervision from personnel from Capel.
Registration for the day-camps took place in May; however it is still possible to participate the camps by registering the child the same day, with the registration form (coupon 2) that you can download from www.capel.lu. The child must return the completed form to the adult in charge of that specific day-camp.
