The Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH) and the Centre national de Littérature (CNL) have announced the third edition of ForumZ to take place on 17 June 2017 at the CNL (Mersch), from 10:00-13:00.

The third ForumZ will be devoted to the future of storytelling, beginning with the history of humanity through the telling of stories through to the digital age since the mid-1990s.

After a lecture on storytelling / stories in the digital age: Chances and challenges for the historical sciences, given by Dr. Andreas Fickers, attendees will discover new angles of the approach of storytelling as developed by the researchers of the C²DH, before being able to participate in a question-answers session held by Claude Conter, director of the CNL.

What is the future of digital storytelling? Does storytelling have the virtues of conciliation? Is there an ethics of 'storytelling'? What is the right balance between substance and form, between objective and subjective, between expertise and emotion? What are the new methods, tools and means of expression of storytelling? And what is their contribution to the development of the quality of discourse? These are some of the topics to be discussed at the event.

ForumZ is a new series of events organised by C²DH, which serves as a platform for a critical and open debate on contemporary issues in contemporary Luxembourg and European history.
