Yogashanti and Khyogalux have got together to create two yoga and Pilates fusion workshops designed to get people in shape for summer held on 18 June and 16 July.
The organisers say:
Focused on energising, detoxing, slimming and strengthening your entire body, each workshop ending with a profoundly relaxing and meditative Yin/Restorative hour. One hour of Yang yoga, 60 minutes Pilates and 60 minutes of Yin/Restorative yoga taught by two certified yoga teachers, Axinja Granier (also certified Pilates) and Kelsey Hopper.
Each workshop will focus on a different theme:
- Yang Yoga – a dynamic Vinyasa flow to boost the metabolism, energize, detox & stoke your inner fire.
- Pilates – a sequence especially created to trim, strengthen, & tone your core, as well as tighten & tone the rest of your body.
- Yin/Restorative – melt into deeply restorative poses, stretching and letting go profoundly
09:15-10:15 Yang Yoga
In this Vinyasa Flow (breath synchronised movements), we flow like water, going smoothly from one pose to the other. Soft warm ups prepare the body, energising pranayama (breathing exercises) and invigorating sun salutations heat up, detox and stretch the body. Time is then taken to explore each pose individually, practicing mindfulness and awareness, ending in a brief relaxation at the end.
Energising and refreshing, this will wake up body and mind, oxygenate the blood, stretch and tone the body and relieve stress and tension.
10:15-11:15 Pilates
Using controlled and precise movements, all exercises are based on using our core and working from the inside out. You will feel not only your abdominals wake up and fire up, but strengthen and tone your back muscles, glutes, legs and arms.
Easy on the joints, and easily adaptable to all body types and health situations - the entire body will receive an energising treat!
11.15-12.15 Yin/Restorative Yoga
Soft and slow, most poses are done on the floor. Gravity and time (some poses are held 3-5 minutes) help to release deeper into the pose and apply healthy stress to connective tissues, making them stronger, more flexible and increasing circulation in the joints. Transitions between poses are slow and gentle, allowing you to fully be present with your body in the moment.
Profoundly relaxing on a physical and mental level, it opens up the body on a whole new level.
