Encouraging the public to keep an eye out for fellow road users, the City of Luxembourg is launching a campaign to remind the public that they need to respect certain rules in order to create a better, and safer, shared environment, including a special quiz to help them remember what they are, with substantial prizes on the line for those who get it right.

The campaign, launched in collaboration with the Vëos-Initiativ Lëtzebuerger, Road Safety and the Grand-Ducal Police, who are concerned that some people seem to be unaware of the highway code or the appropriate behaviour to adopt towards other users.

From 12 June until 9 July, the City and its partners will post a quiz on the City website: www.vdl.lu, which aims to provide a lighthearted way to help people remember the rules and codes of conduct.

Through a series of ten random questions, participants will be faced with real scenarios such as “which road user has priority in this or that situation? Who must respect speed limits? How do you signal your intention to change direction as a motorist or cyclist? How can you respond as a pedestrian if you hear a bicycle bell crossing the street?”

Each question will offer four multiple choice answers. Those who correctly answer all questions will be put into a random draw, enabling them to win one of the prizes to be won:

1st prize: VëloSportCenter gift certificate worth €1,000

2nd prize: network subscription valid for one year on all public transport networks in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg (value €440)

3rd prize: tens sets of security gadgets
