WiSE Women has organised a conference entitled “WiSE – How can Luxembourg do better?” within the framework of the exhibition "WiSE Women - Women in research and engineering in Luxembourg" on Monday 13 February 2017 at 19:00 at the Tramsschapp (49, rue Ermesinde, L-1469 Limpertsberg).

The conference takes part in light of the fact that whilst the Grand Duchy has the potential to welcome a large number of talented researchers, women represent only 24% of those employed in Luxembourg.

The questions to be raised at the conference include trying to explain this figure, ways to improve the current situation, how to reconcile maternity and mobility, how to motivate younger generations, and how to create an engaging work environment for all.

Three panels of researchers will discuss their experiences and identify key issues with specialists and the public. The reflections of the evening will be transformed into a white paper to be given to the institutions, in order to make scientific careers more attractive for women and to get increasingly close to gender equality.

The conference will be given in English.

The discussion will be followed by a networking cocktail offered by the Ville de Luxembourg.
