Although poor weather conditions have delayed the re-opening of Pont Adolphe until March 2017, the Luxembourg Urban History Company (LUHC) together with the National Museum of History and Art and Musée 3 Eechelen are hosting a guided tour next Sunday 12 February of Luxembourg’s iconic bridge.
Led by Dr Robert L Philippart of LUHC and Änder Bruns from the National Museum of History and Art, the visit aims to underline Pont Adolphe’s impact on the urban development of central Luxembourg. The tour will only tangentially touch on the bridge as a work of art.
The 90-minute tour starts at 10:30 from Piquet off Rue Aldringen, near Hôtel des Postes, and will be in Luxembourgish. Tickets are €5, free for students.
The Luxembourg Urban History Company was founded four years ago with the aim of introducing the public to the role of architecture in historic Luxembourg’s development. Commentated by historians, architects or city planners, their guided architecture tours of Luxembourg and Esch-sur-Alzette are coordinated in cooperation with the National Museum of History and Art and Musée 3 Eechelen.
