University of Luxembourg Organises Seminars on EU Diplomacy and FinTech

The University of Luxembourg has organised two open lectures on the topics of European Union diplomacy and FinTech applications, to take place on 9 February and 10 February 2017 respectively.

The university has announced two upcoming seminars entitled “Union Diplomacy – From Dream to Reality” and “3x3 FinTech Lecture Series – Secure & compliant data management in FinTech applications”.

In the framework of its project "The European Union as Global International Actor and the Question of Competence" (EUGIA), the Research Unit in Law of the University of Luxembourg is inviting the public on Thursday, 9 February at 17.30 to a seminar around the European External Action Service (EEAS).

The event will include a presentation of the new book "European External Action Service: Promoting Coherence through Autonomy and Coordination" from Dr Mauro Gatti, researcher at the University of Luxembourg and a discussion around this topic with researchers and professors from different universities as well as a policy adviser from EEAS and a judge from the EU General Court.

The lecture will take place in Weicker Building, in conference room B 001 (Ground floor), 4, rue Alphonse Weicker, 2721 Luxembourg and be followed by a cocktail.

As part of the 3x3 FinTech lecture series, the University of Luxembourg and the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (LHoFT) invite the public on Friday, 10 February at 17.00 to a presentation about Secure & compliant data management in FinTech applications.

The presentation will be held by Professor Lionel Briand, Professor of Computer Science at the University of Luxembourg and Vice-Director of its Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT).

Over the course of the academic year, the 3x3 lecture series will feature three speakers from each of the three disciplines carrying out FinTech Research at the University of Luxembourg – information technology, finance and law.

This lecture will take place in the Weicker Building, in room B001, 4, rue Alphonse Weicker, 2721 Luxembourg, and will be followed by a reception.
