This year's 12th annual Relais Pour la Vie 24-hour fund-raising initiative in aid of cancer research is being held at d'Coque in Luxembourg-Kirchberg from Saturday 1 April to Sunday 2 April.
This annual event involves a maximum number of teams whose members take turns - normally by the hour - to jog or walk around the indoor track, with some teams going all-out with elaborate fancy-dress contumes. The common thread that binds them all together is to show solidarity against cancer. Some teams opt for the 24-option, with others for a 12-hour participation.
The 24-hours relay event will feature 375 teams and 10,000 participants, as well as 200 cancer survivirs and care-givers, in addition to 290 volunteers.
The Opening Ceremony will take place at 18:30 on Saturday. The Relais itself begins at 20:00 on Saturday 1 April and ends on Sunday 2 April at 20:00.
The organiser, Fondation Cancer, requires that in addition to the registration fee, each team should raise money to support their projects.
Many teams from the international community have now registered and are in the process of forming teams.
