A seedbed for future entrepreneurs and a nerve hub for a growing number of small businesses, the Color Business Center in Bertrange is a daily witness to a proliferation of new economic activities.
"The policy of diversification of the Luxembourg economy seems to be working, given the number of small businesses who contact us and establish themselves with us to shine on their respective markets," explained Elisabeth Bricout, business centre manager. "Between the beer creator, software developers, natural disinfection professionals and the specialist in hypnosis, the diversity of sectors encountered is amazing."
Although the predominance of the tertiary sector is still noticeable, especially for IT services, construction, consumer goods and logistics are also very promising sectors in the country.
"We receive a lot of start-ups and former employees wishing to start their own business," Ms. Bricout continued. "Our offer allows new projects to settle in a furnished office, very close to the centre of Luxembourg City and just off the motorway. Usually our tenants are seeking simplicity and want access to a functional office at an affordable price."
She added: "What delights us is that we see that our tenants are beginning to do business amongst themselves. An accountant tenant is responsible for the formation of new arrivals, our insurance broker delivers policies to other tenants, our tax specialist advises his neighbours, our automotive specialist handles vehicles sales, etc. It becomes a small interconnected family and we are carrying out common events so that people meet and develop their network."
"We offer maximum ease to our tenants without making ourselves necessary for the operation of the company," Elisabeth Bricout concluded. "In effect, we offer no direct debit under the law. Companies look for an office with us where they can quickly be independent and effective. We are dealing with very pragmatic people wishing to deploy their business plan quickly, sometimes even on other continents, and from Luxembourg."
