The College of the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Luxembourg has announced the official programme of concerts and events that will be taking place in the capital in celebration of Luxembourg National Day.
The programme is jam-packed, and will include things to see and do on both the eve of HRH the Grand Duke's birthday and the day itself.
WEDNESDAY 22 JUNE 2016:
Official Celebrations
16:00 - Changing of the guards in front of the Grand Ducal Palace
20:45 - Concert by the Fanfate Royale Grand-Ducale Luxembourg Grund-Fetschenhof-Cents-Pulvermühl before the official gallery until the arrival of Their Royal Highnesses on boulevard F.D. Roosevelt.
21:15 - Torchlit procession with firefighters, local associations, Guides and Scouts, and percussion, music, singing and folklore groups. The route will leave from Rue Philippe II, heading past avenue de la Gare, the Viaduct and boulevard F.D. Roosevelt.
23:00 - The fireworks will be fired from Fort Thüngen (Dräi Eechelen) and will last for around 17 minutes. The best vantage points to see the fireworks are boulevard Ulveling, boulevard Thorn, Corniche, Montée de Clausen, Montée de Pfaffenthal, Côte d'Eich, Centrs, Fetschenhof and the Grund, Clausen, and Pfaffenthal.

Kinnekswiss
10:30 - 18:00 - As part of the celebrations for the National Day, the City of Luxembourg will be holding a gaming party at Kinnekswiss, featuring more than a hundred workshops and games based on touch, sound, sight and skill. A free shuttle between the Kinnekswiss and the Pirate Ship will be provided between 10:00 and 18:00 by the Péitruss Express. Participation is free and snacks and musical entertainment will be provided on site.
