Several associations in Luxembourg have joined forces to organise an alternative gourmet walk in Manternach on Sunday 12 June 2016.
Created jointly by Caritas Luxembourg, the Cercle des ONG de développement, Christians for the Sahel, the Committee for a Just Peace in the Middle East, Frère des Hommes, natur & ëmwelt, SOS Faim and Transition Minett/MESA - Maison de la transition, the activity is centered around the themes of land and sustainable food. As writer Pierre Rabhi has said, "For trees and plants to blosson, for animals that feed to flourish, for men to live, the earth must be honoured".
The departure will be between 10:30 and 13:00 at the A Wiewesch reception centre (12, Syrdallstrooss) in Manternach, a few steps from the train station. The route will be 6km and will not be accessible with a pram or pushchair. Good walking shoes are advised.
Activities will take place around the theme of the earth, with organic and local dishes and beverages offered at various stations and a concert scheduled for the arrival at the A Wiewesch reception centre.
As places are limited, online booking is required here until 5 June 2016. Participation costs 20€ (+ booking fee) for 12-25 year olds, 35€ for 25+ (+ booking free) and free for children up to the age of 12.
