From Friday 13 to Sunday 15 May 2016, the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO) will be holding an outdoor festival for the 2016 Whitsun weekend.

Entitled "Enjoy Luxembourg 2016", this outdoor, free festival will aim to instill a welcoming and joyful atmosphere in the capital and provide a culturel programme to residents and visitors.

For this second edition, the main themes will be balloons and Luxembourg street art in all its forms: hip hop, rap, choreograohy, breakdance and even a hip hop and rap video contest. The programme will be as follows:

  • 17:00 : Exhibition of radio-controlled balloon models. Activities for children, creative workshoops, photo shooting, demonstrations.
  • 19:00 : Take-off of the "de Superjhemp um Knuedler" balloon.
  • 20:30 : Mini Night Glow with Mini Balloons

Singing, dance and rap contest with the winners of the high school competition (yçée Technique Bonnevoie, Lyçée Technique du Centre, Lyçée Technique Michel Lucius, Lyçée Nordstad, Lyçée Vauban, Ecole Européenne, Lyçée Belval)

  • 17:00 : Hip-Hop Lxb Awards

Lifetime achievement awards - tribute to activists for their contribution to the Luxembourg hip hop scene.
Competition and election of the best rap video, artist and dance group of Luxembourg.
Opening of live vote on the Hip-Hop Lxb Awards and broadcast of clips on a giant screen.

  • 18:00 : Competition up until semi-final of "All Style 1 vs 1" and presentation of the jury
  • 19:00 : Choreography Contest and presentation of the jury
  • 20:00 : Competition up until semi-final of "2 vs 2 breakdance" and presentation of the jury
  • 21:00 : Final of "All Style 1 vs 1" and "2 vs 2 breakdance"
  • 21:30 : Presentation of prizes to the winners of the "All Style 1 vs 1" contest,the "Choreography Contest" and "2 vs 2 breakdance".
  • 22:00 : End of party with DJ Kool Herc, feather of hip hop. Graffiti painting by SUMO.
