On Sunday 1 May 2016, this year's edition of the Foire de Printemps came to an end after welcoming 50,000 visitors over nine days.

"The challenge was taken up, both commercially with a diverse offer of 300 exhibitors, and the content of the programme, rich in entertainment and surprises," commented Jean-Michel Collignon, Director of Luxexpo.

The Via Vinigast linked the 5 themed pavilions as the gastronomy and wine driveway, whilst the Spring Kitchen offered quality workshops for children and adults. The Square des Grand Vins et Crémants highlighted 44 wines and sparkling wines held dearly by Luxembourg winemakers, who were there to answer the public's question about production. Lëtz Go Local was organised for the first time during the Foire's second weekend.

The 50,000 visitor influx was in line with that of 2015 and with 300 exhibitors, the Foire remains the most important trade event in modern Luxembourg.

Speaking on the future of the Foire de Printemps, Chief Operating Officer, Morgan Gromy, said: "Ephemeral commercial events were on the rise, their DNA structure is ever-evolving, our infrastructures are being modernised, our parking capacity will double, the team has plenty of new ideas, partners are enthusiastic...all the ingredients have come together to launch a new innovative spring event, which responds to changing public expectations. The Foire, as we have known it, has had a beautiful past, its future, in a completely redesigned format, is promising! The first novelties will be announced to the press and shared on social networks in fifteen days."

"After more than 50 editions, the history of the Foire de Printemps, in its current format, is ending today, I thank tje exhibitors, the public and partners for sharing with us this week, and I give appointment to you all next year for a completely new event," concluded Jean-Michel Collignon.
