Alsace Digitale has announced a Start-up Week-end that is being organised in Mulhouse (France, near Switzerland) from 22-24 April 2016, at Ensisa (12 rue des Frères Lumière, Mulhouse).

The goal of the Start-up Week-end is to bring together entrepreneurial minds from Basel (Switzerland), Freiburg (Germany), Alsace (France) and beyond to collaborate on innovative projects and potentially form new start-up companies.

Participants have:

- 54 hours to “make their projects come to life” through various works such as market researches, the elaboration of a business model and the conception of a prototype.

- Throughout the weekend, relevant coaches will mentor the teams to speed up the development of their projects.

- On Sunday night, each team will try to convince a jury made up of professionals who will elect the three most persuasive projects.

Start-up Weekends are weekend-long, hands-on experiences where entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs can find out if startup ideas are viable; nearly 500 Startup Weekends have taken place around the globe, with 200 more currently in the planning phase. Developers, designers, marketers, product managers and start-up enthusiasts come together to share ideas, form teams, build products, launch start-ups and compete for prizes in 54 high-energy hours. Anyone looking to test the entrepreneurial waters is welcome, however the experience is especially useful to entrepreneurs interested in receiving feedback on an idea, looking for a co-founder, or who want to learn new skills.

The Startup Weekend events follow the same pattern: it is all about elaborating and testing a startup idea. Each participant has 60 seconds to present his project, announce his needs and convince other people to work for his idea. After this short performance, he will receive feedbacks and votes from his peers. Teams are formed around the best ideas.
