The Ville de Luxembourg and the Administration des Ponts et Chaussées have announced plans to close a section of the route de Longwy this weekend in order to conduct renewal work on the road surface.
The part of the road located between rue de Merl and rue de la Barrière, as well as rue St Hubert and rue de Strassen, will be closed off to traffic in different phases from Saturday 9 to Sunday 10 April 2016. The adjustments will be as follows:
- Saturday 9 April, 12:00 until 20:00: The milling work will see route de Longwy become one-way in the direction of rue de Merl, on the section between rue de la Barrière and rue de Merl.
- Saturday 9 April, 22:00 until Sunday 10 April, 10:00: The crossroads route de Longwy-rue des Aubépines-rue de la Barrière will be closed off to all traffic.
- Saturday 9 April, 20:00 until Sunday 10 April, 20:00: The route de Longwy will be closed off to all traffic on the section between rue de Merl and rue de la Barrière. Rue de Strassen will be close off to all traffic.
Bus lines 5, 6 and 215 will be diverted in both directions by rue de Merl, boulevard Marcel Cahen, rue Béatrix de Bourbon and rue Guillaume de Machault. Towards the city centre, the stops St Hubert, Laang Heck and Orval will not be served and will be replaced by the stops St Gengoul along rue de Merl and a temporary stop outside houses 187-189 on route de Longwy. In the direction of Bertrange, the stops Laang Heck and St Hubert will be replaced by St Gengoul.
- Saturday 9 April, 12:00 until Sunday 10 April, 20:00: Rue St. Hubert will be closed off to all traffic.
Access to local residents will be assured until 20:00 on 9 April 2016. People requiring use of their vehicles from 20:00 on Saturday are asked to park in adjacent streets.
