The amount of people in paid employment in Luxembourg rose by 0.7% from the third to fourth quarter of 2015, indicating an increase of 2.8% compared to the final quarter of 2014.
From the fourth quarter of 2014 to the same period of 2015, paid employment in so-called specialised activities and support services together rose 6.2%, whilst the financial and insurance sectors saw an increase of 3.6%. The aforementioned activities cover 26% of the country's paid employment and were responsible for 53.7% of the net job creation between the last quarter of 2014 and 2015.
The number of commuters grew more than those for the resident workers year-over-year by 3.7% and 2.0%, respectively. Looking at the data for those residing in Luxembourg, the number of people coming from other European Countries is lower than those arriving from third countries, although both show increases, by 3.0% and 7.3%, respectively.
