On Thursday 10 March 2016, Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel visited the headquarters of ICT development facilitator and incubator LuxConnect, in his other capacity as Minister of Communications and Media.

The Prime Minister was welcomed by Roger Lampach, former CTO and current CEO of LuxConnect, before visiting the offices and speaking with the company's employees. He then met with the Executive Committee which, after the departure of Edouard Wangen, is once again threefold since the arrival on 1 January of Tom Kettels as Chief Business Development Officer. Marcel Origer remains in charge of finance.

Xavier Bettel praised the active role played by LuxConnect within the Digital Lëtzebuerg strategy through the deployment of efficient ICT infrastructure. Thursday also marked the 10th anniversary of the company, which now engages 24 employees.

In its ten years, the company has built four advanced technology data centres covering IT surface of 14,700m2, with the last centre DC1.3 constructed in Bettembourg and due to be opened later this year. In parallel, LuxConnect deployed a 1,000km fibre optic network throughout the country, an event which will be celebrated on 21 March 2016.

Roger Lampach expressed his satisfaction with the visit and with the support that the Prime Minister has provided the country's ICT sector.
