Racing cars in the light blue and orange colours, sponsored during the 60s and 70s by the Gulf oil company are legendary; being protected by copyright, the famous "Racing Colours" helped forge the myth.
Now, for the first time, a tanker now exists in the same "corporate design". It belongs to Gulf Luxembourg, and now serves to supply Gulf petrol stations across the Grand Duchy.
Porsche 917 and Ford GT40
The colours of the legendary racing cars from the John Wyer team, light blue and orange, are unusual for motorsport and consequently very attractive. The two cars, the Porsche 917 and the Ford GT40, acquired a real cult status durign their heyday. Thanks to them, the John Wyer team won the 24 Hours of Le Mans several times.

In addition, the film "Le Mans", released in 1971, has contributed significantly to the popularity of both racecars and the Gulf brand. The film tells the story of a racing driver, played by Steve McQueen, who won the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in a Porsche 917 with light blue and orange colours.

Today, almost 45 years later, the Gulf Luxembourger oil fuel supplier, based in Marnach, has commissioned a tanker in these colours, an unusual fact considering that the Gulf "Racing Colours" are reserved in principle to motor sport and are made available as exclusive partners for specific purposes.
World First for Gulf "Racing Colours"
Specifically, there are only very few vehicles and other objects that carry the popular "design" of Gulf "Racing Colours". The tanker is therefore a real world first that fills the Gulf Luxembourg company with pride. It is with this amazing trailer, retro style, that the Gulf petrol stations are supplied with fuel today.
