Thursday 19 November will mark the 20th anniversary of the Greater Region, with all members of the public invited to join in the celebration in Hargimont, Wallonia.
The Greater Region of Luxembourg was created as a geopolitical region encompassing the Grand Duchy and nearby regions of Belgium, Germany and France to encourage economic, cultural, touristic and social development and collaboration. When Luxembourg and the Greater Region were selected as the annual European Capital of Culture, the subregions each focused on specific aspects of their cultural life, with Luxembourg showcasing migration; Rhineland-Palatinate highlighting important European personalities; Saarland demonstrating industry as cultural heritage; Lorraine focusing on culture and memorisation; and Wallonia exhibiting modern forms of expression.
The evening will feature information stands on the region, food samplings, pyrotechnical juggling, a diabolo show, Chinese pole, a DJ, musicians, magic and more.
The event, which will begin at 18:30, is open to the public free-of-charge. The evening will be taking place at the Château de Jemeppe, 24 Rue Félix Lefèvre, B-6900, Hargimont.
