The sunshine returned to Luxembourg City on Saturday 5 September 2015 just in time for the 2015 edition of Discover Luxembourg.

At 12:00 around 50 teams of four began assembling outside the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO) on Place Guillaume II, preparing to embark on either the Short Route of 7 km or the Long Route of 10 km. With Discover Luxembourg T-shirts donned and Information Packs at the ready, the first team was off!

The first challenge was comprised of a cinema quiz at the Golden Lady statue on Place de la Constitution, where teams were given two minutes to complete ten questions on films currently showing at Utopolis Cinema.

As well as brain-teasing quizzes, the route covered further challenges and observations which had groups tasting gastronomic samplings of Luxembourg delicacies in the form of Ramborn cider; deciphering intriguing cultural and historical puzzles, including spotting the mysterious unicorn on Place d'Armes; and taking part in active sporting elements, such as a game of Badminton in the Municipal park and a push-up and star-jump challenge in the Grund.

Further points were awarded for the technological aspect of the event, which this year for the first time involved social media, with the teams taking fun selfies with various elements around the City centre and uploading them to Facebook or Twitter with the hashtag #DiscLux2015 .

The journey of discovery through Luxembourg City concluded at the eighth and final Station at Centre Altrimenti, where prizes were awarded and the winning team announced.

This year, it was the 'Brady Bunch' team who were victorious, having put themselves in good stead from the get-go by earning 80 points in the very first challenge alone. The 'Brady Bunch' won themselves the now-traditional Maillot Jaune, 2 bottles of crémant sponsored by AraCityRadio and Energy Consult, 12 glasses provided by Villeroy & Boch and a €25 voucher each for meals at the Danish Deli.

Second place was awarded to 'Jean La Gaufre', who received 4 six-packs of delicious 'Made in Luxembourg' Ramborn cider and glasses. In third place was 'Wolfpack', who won 2 Go-Bike vouchers, each valid for a city tour for 2 people, as well as a €25 voucher each for Indian restaurant Kripa.

In addition, the team 'Friends of Cat' won a special prize of a Cornhole game from Ramborn cider, for scoring the highest points on that challenge.

"It was fantastic that everybody enjoyed themselves so much and discovered something new about Luxembourg," said Event Organiser for G-Media, publisher of Chronicle.lu Geoff Thompson. "Even including the location of the Golden Unicorn on Place D'Armes!"
