Shopping Centre La Belle Etoile will be exhibiting the work of origami artist Gérard Ty Sovann at its outlet until Saturday 25 July 2015.
The word 'origami' comes from the Japanese 'oru', meaning 'fold' and 'kami', which means 'paper', and the technique is achieved by folding rather than cutting or pasting, a simple square of paper.
The display reflectsartist Ty Sovann's self-proclaimed love for nature and respect for the environment, depicting a savana landscape with tigers, zebras, gazelles, rhinos, wildebeest and lions; as well as bired, bears, penguins and giraffes.
Introductors workshops will also be offered to the public by the artists himself, who has been performing this art technique, requiring both patience and observation, from an early age.
Workshops will take place from Tuesday to Friday, 14:00 until 18:00, and demonstrations will be performed on Saturdays from 14:00 until 18:00.
