The Ville de Luxembourg has announced it will be offering various entertainment, sports and relaxation activities on the 'Kinnekswiss', from Friday 10 July until Sunday 6 September 2015.
These scheduled activities will take place Monday to Sunday, from 11:30 until 19:30, and form part of the City's summer initiative to create a clean and green space for everyone in the heart of the capital.
The Sports Department of the City of Luxembourg has developed a rich and diverse programme, designed to be accessible to everyone in order to promote sport and encourage the public to be physically active. Certain activities have been brought back by popular demand, including slacklining, tightrope, the Cross Boccia, a modern form of bowling alley and soccer-tennis combining football and tennis. More traditional sports, including football; rugby; badminton; volleyball; frisbee; indiaca; and field hockey will also be available in non-competitive, fun styles such as speedminton and mini-golf.
As well as coordination games like diabolo and unicycling, weekly courses of Taiji Quan and Qigong will be offered throughout the summer, to provide participants with harmonious and deep-breathing movement exercises. Hip Hop and Break-Dance classes will also be held from 14:00 until 16:00 on the following dates:
14/07; 15/07; 16/07; 22/07; 23/07; 28/07; 20/07; 04/08; 05/08; 06/08; 11/08; 12/08 and 13;08 in 2015.
In the event of rain, these classes will be hed in the sports hall on Rue de Strasbourg in the Gare district. All activities and sports that take place on the Kinnekswiss will be supervised by sport instructors and trained facilitators.
Pre-registration is not required and each of the proposed events is free of charge, as is the rental of necessary sports equipment. Moreover, the 'Jump for Fun' trampoline park has once again been installed in Merl park and is available from 3 July until 13 September 2015, to be enjoyed Monday-Sunday from 12:00 until 20:00 unless it is raining.
