Luxinnovation today announced the new design of the Luxembourg Portal for Innovation and Research website.

The website, which receives 40,000 page views per month, is now available on all devices, including smartphones and tablets, and now contains new sections providing additional information on innovation and research in Luxembourg for entrepreneurs, project developers and researchers in the Grand Duchy and abroad.

Luxinnovation, the national agency for innovation and research in Luxembourg, stated that the adaptation of the website came in response to the rapid evolution of Internet consumption patterns, and the different needs and expectations of its varied public.

In able to be adapted to mobile reading, the whole structure, content and features of the site were reportedly redesigned and simplified by teams at the Centre des Technologies de l'Information de l'Etat (CTIE).

Luxinnovation claimed that the portal was well received by the public, with a survey revealing that many felt the importance of presenting a platform for all actors in innovation and research in Luxembourg in order to promote the Grand Duchy as a destination for start-ups, creative companies and outstanding researchers.

The presentation of Luxembourg's Research and Development programmes to the international sphere was also the catalyst for new sections on the site, such as that entitled 'Pourquoi le Luxembourg?' ('Why Luxembourg?'). This latest feature showcases the most promising opportunties in the innovative economic sector: automotive components; science and health technologies; new production technologies; ICT; aerospace; finance; cleantech; and logistics.

In addition, a new section concerning the importance of design in innovation, as well as a section entitled 'Concours' ('Competition') which compiles all the current competitions in this field, are also available to visitors to the site.
