
Secretary of State for the Economy, Francine Closener, visited the premises of LuxTrust SA and INCERT economic interest group in Capellen yesterday, to congratulate the management and staff for the continual development of their activities.
The trust services offered by LuxTrust include identification and authentication of persons and the provision of an electronic signature for individuals and legal entities. During his address, the Director General of LuxTrust SA, Stéphane Ries emphasised the pioneering spirit of the company:
"All services offered by LuxTrust are already now fully in line with the European regulation 'eIDAS' concerning the electronic identification and trust services from June 2016."
LuxTrust now has nearly 400,000 users and has reported plans to expand to international markets.
According to Director of GIE INCERT Benoit Poletti, the company exceeded the threshold of 300 million validity checks of electronic certificates in 2014. These checks were from more than 180 countries worldwide.
During his presentation, Poletti emphasised the activities of GIE related to the management of IT infrastructure, including electronic signatures of biometric passports; residence permits and electronic ID cards; and the protection of sensitive data such as fingerprints. In addition, INCERT represents Luxembourg in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the European Commission and several international standardisation committees in the areas of information security.
