Last week, Luxembourg hosted the Road Patrol Training for Excellence 2021; the Automobile Club du Luxembourg (ACL) team finished ninth.

From 11 to 14 October 2021, road patrol officers from fourteen European and African countries met in Luxembourg for the first time. In addition to discovering the country, they had the opportunity to try their hand at karting at the ACL site in Mondercange.

During the opening ceremony, Alexander Zerzaihi, COO of ARC Europe, spoke of "an important event for the exchange of good practices and new technological challenges". A point of view shared by the director of the ACL, Jean-Claude Juchem, who insisted on "the importance of the collaboration of automobile clubs in order to always be at the forefront and to meet the new mobility needs of members”.

During the workshops that took place at the driver training centre in Colmar-Berg, the teams had to get in tune with the diversity of vehicles and the various issues that may be encountered in their daily lives.

Organised each year by the FIA ​​Region I and ARC Europe, the Road Patrol Training for Excellence brings together patrol officers from different automobile clubs in Europe and Africa. The last edition was held in the Netherlands in 2019, after last year's edition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thomas Møller Thomsen, President of the FIA ​​Region I, commented: "[T]his edition has once again brought together the best teams and demonstrated the importance of networking to achieve excellence".

The Slovenia team, composed of Sašo Tomažič and Miha Setnikar, won the title "Road Patrol Team of the Year" for the second time.
