On Thursday 31 March 2022, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 1,732 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 1,036 fatalities (one new death since Wednesday) resulting from the virus to date.
1,732 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Thursday from a total of 4,513 tests carried out the day before, representing 272.87 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 38.40%. Wednesday 26 January 2022 marked the record daily high of 3,073 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a seven-day period) is currently 1393.43.
A total of 25 people are in hospital with the virus, including four patients in intensive care.
There are currently 19,706 active infections known, whilst a total of 195,089 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.15.
A total of 1,275,228 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (479,547 first doses, 430,617 second doses, 365,064 additional doses). A total of 472,119 people are now fully vaccinated.
The incidence rate (per 100,000 inhabitants) for unvaccinated individuals was 224.92; for vaccinated individuals, this was 290.96. These figures only take into consideration people who returned a positive PCR test.
