On Friday 10 December 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 369 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 890 fatalities (one new death since Thursday) resulting from the virus to date.

369 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Friday from a total of 4,625 tests carried out the day before, representing 58.13 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 7.98%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases. 

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 260.71. 

A total of 80 people are in hospital with the virus, including 23 patients in intensive care. 

There are currently 5,619 active infections known, whilst a total of 86,920 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.97.

A total of 960,315 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (452,387 first doses, 395,044 second doses, 112,884 additional doses). A total of 435,661 people are now fully vaccinated.

From 6 December 2021, the Ministry of Health is including the incidence rates of new infections by vaccination status in its daily reports. These new infections only affect people who return a positive PCR test. On Friday, the incidence rate for unvaccinated individuals was reported as 91.20; for vaccinated individuals, this was 41.72.
