On Friday 12 November 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 179 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 855 fatalities (one new death since Thursday) resulting from the virus to date.
179 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Friday from a total of 3,141 tests carried out the day before, representing 28.20 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 5.70%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 142.14.
A total of 40 people are in hospital with the virus, including thirteen patients in intensive care.
There are currently 2,681 active infections known, whilst a total of 80,712 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproduction rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.03.
A total of 854,546 vaccinations have been carried out in Luxembourg to date (439,791 first doses, 380,056 second doses, 34,699 additional doses). A total of 419,875 people are now fully vaccinated.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
